Conditions & Injuries
Your North Vancouver Chiropractor should be well versed on creating rehabilitation programs for their patients. Firstly, adjustments are vital to restoring proper alignment to the spinal column allowing for optimal function of the nervous system. But once your spinal column and bones are back in balance you will need to strengthen muscles and ligaments around your spine and joints. The main goal of rehabilitation is to reduce the functional disability of our patients and reduce restrictions on the activities of daily living. A safe and consistent patient rehab program can reduce the chances of future injuries. Our North Vancouver Rehabilitation Chiropractor will create a custom rehab program specific to you.BOOK CONSULTATION
The power of chiropractic rehabilitation is absolutely amazing. Chiropractors around the world are helping patients like you get healthy without the use of drugs or invasive surgery. Your North Vancouver Chiropractor has the education and training to detect subluxations (misaligned vertebrae) that cause decreased nerve function. The proper technique will be used to reverse the effects of subluxation and thus restore nerve function, and reverse the issues that cause symptoms such as pain, heat, inflammation and reduced motion. There are numerous chiropractic techniques that your North Vancouver Chiropractor may be certified in. Non-force techniques such as Activator Methods allows the patient the benefit of restoring balance to the nervous system without any popping noises and rotation to the spine. Flexion Distraction adjustments are another example of how traction is incoporated into chiropractic mobilization to create the same goal with using traction. Do not forget to stretch. Stretching should become part of your daily activities during and after chiropractic rehabilitation. Make sure during acute episodes of pain and swelling that stretching is monitored. Allow injured vertebral discs, muscles, ligaments, and tendons 72 hours or more of rest before stretching. As soft tissues may become further injured due to stretching in an acute injury. Also warming up and getting blood flow to chronic injuries before stretching is extremely important. Never stretch a cold muscle, ligament or tendon!
Fun Fact! Did you know that when you lengthen a muscle, the body’s deep tendon reflex will be activated and an involuntary contraction of the muscle will occur. This occurrence is designed to protect extremities from injury.BOOK CONSULTATION
