Auto Accident & Whiplash Chiropractic TherapyAuto Accidents can cause severe damage to the spine, including whiplash and whiplash-associated disorders. Neck, back, shoulder, hip, and headaches are all symptoms of whiplash. Several thousand pounds of force into your neck, back and shoulders at 2/10’s of a second can do a lot of harm. Don’t be fooled, auto accidents can cause your neck curve to reverse due to traumatized front neck muscles. This is because when the cervical spine extends back violently anterior muscles of the spine endure micro tears. These tears cause inflammation which generate new collagen fibres from the liver as fibroblasts. But the repair process also cause new tissue to lay down too aggressively and in random patterns. This causes the cervical spine to evolve into a new reversed curve. However, with specialized chiropractic treatment for whiplash, these curves can be brought back to there normal lordotic shape.
Get whiplash treatment immediately as long term arthritic changes and chronic headaches can be permanent if not treated.

Auto Accident Facts
Did you know there were 200,000 car crashes reported to ICBC in the Vancouver Lower Mainland in 2015?
What is Whiplash?
Whiplash-injury may involve both bony and/or soft-tissue injuries. Whiplash is an ‘acceleration-deceleration’ mechanism of energy transfer to the neck. Whiplash typically results from rear-end or side-impact motor vehicle collisions, but it can also occur when diving, from some types of falls, and other causes.
An estimated 30% to 50% of patients who present whiplash injury symptoms will go on to report chronic, and potentially more widespread symptoms, which may be classified as Whiplash-Associated Disorders (WAD).
Assessing the magnitude of disability
WAD is recognized as a medical condition where there is often an apparent distance between the magnitude of injury and the magnitude of disability.
